(left) test shoot trailer
An atheist suffering from depression turns to a Catholic Priest for counsel. When their philosophies on the most important questions in life are put to the test it becomes unclear who will save who.
Our story opens with WINNIE STAFFORD lying alone in a hospital bed after her attempted suicide. She recounts to us the story of her mother’s refusal to have a blood transfusion 365 days ago on account of her being a Jehovah ’s Witness. Winnie isn’t a Witness – she is an atheist.
Her mother died and Winnie never really recovered.
Shades of Grey is a story about Life, Death and God. It centers on Winnie’s experience in the psych ward and her therapy sessions with the local priest, GREG MCCARTHY. The two ruminate on life, love, sex, and the ultimate question: is there a God? By the end of their sessions it’s unclear whether he’s going to save her, or she’s going to save him.
